We’ve just been notified that PumpEng’s JetGuard® Submersible Pump is being awarded a $20,000 grant under the Western Australian Innovation Voucher program to increase mining productivity.
The grant is designed to support the commercialisation of our JetGuard submersible Pump and we are delighted.
The Minister for Innovation and ICT, the Hon Dave Kelly MLA, has sent his congratulations to the PumpEng team on this award.
The JetGuard pump has been designed to overcome problems that affect dewatering pumps when they become jammed or damaged by Shotcrete fibres.
Shotcrete is used to stabilise the internal walls of mineshafts. The small, tough Shotcrete fibres flow into the water and end up inside dewatering pumps and pumping stations.
Failure of pumps or pumping stations can be costly because of delays to mining and construction as well as increased expense for maintenance and repair.
The PumpEng Innovation Voucher will be acknowledged by the Minister at a Perth ceremony in late June.
We are looking forward to using this award to help take our West Australian designed submersible pump to a global market.
